Thanks to this video I successfully (and carefully) took mine apart, cleaned the dust and debris out of the fan, put new thermal paste (with a plastic scraper/poker than comes with pc cleaning equipment) and then reassembled it. I'd use other videos to watch for disassembly purposes so you don't break or damage your Xbox/the seal. Anyways, it is now working better and not overheating at the slightest bit of use. Yay me I guess?

Anyone watching this today, remember this is only a temp fix, if that. Removing the X-clamps and installing bolts is NEVER a good idea. It warps the board. Re-balling it on the stove or in the oven is also hit or miss. The problem with the 360 wasn't bad solder or weak X-clamps, it was a manufacturing defect within the GPU chip itself.

I hope your not charging people for this kind of repair. Lmao longest running time after repair. 10 minutes.

Possibly idle control valve, try some Seafoam throttle body cleaner for any of you out there. Had an idle problem on my 97 Bird with the 4.6, fixed it.

The title of this video should not include the phrase "permanent fix" but instead "permanent damage".This can never be used as a permanent fix, its just not possible. If you actually knew what was happening when this "fix" was taking place you would understand that by no means should this ever be a viable way to fix a console. Even if the console starts working again after this "fix" it will never be permanent because it's fixing nothing and the original issue with underfill of the RSX is still prevalent.

What? That amp is capable of 4000W at 2 ohm? I used to install car audio in the late 90s and an amp that size would generally be 150-300W mono. Orion Red, Precision Power and Phoenix Gold amps come to mind. A PPS amp @1000W was like 4 ft long. Have amplifiers changed that much in 25 yrs?
